Heavenly Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan-Marshmallow Topping

This classic sweet potato casserole is the quintessential dish for any holiday table or comforting family meal. Creamy, spiced sweet potatoes are crowned with a delightful crunch of pecans, sweet brown sugar, and a golden, gooey marshmallow topping, making every bite an unforgettable experience.

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Place the cubed sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until very tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain well.

Transfer the drained sweet potatoes to a large bowl. Add 1/2 cup melted butter, brown sugar, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mash with a potato masher or beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

Spread the mashed sweet potato mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans with 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the sweet potato base.
